The Life That Earned You Acceptance May Not Be the Life That Nourishes Your Soul

You learned how to earn acceptance before you had the opportunity to discover who you truly are.

Through EMDR, DBT-informed therapy, and trauma-focused approaches, I help adults heal relational wounds, navigate faith, spirituality and identity transitions, and reconnect with who you are

Maybe You've Spent Years Becoming Who You Thought You Needed to Be

Meeting expectations.

Keeping the peace.

Following the rules.

Taking care of others.

Being responsible.

Being successful.

Doing what you believed would bring belonging, connection, purpose, or peace.

Many of these choices made sense. They may have helped you build meaningful relationships, achieve important goals, and create a life you value.

Yet despite your efforts, you may find yourself longing for something deeper.

Questioning beliefs that once felt certain.

Feeling disconnected from yourself.

Wondering why a life that looks right on the outside doesn't always feel right on the inside.

Not because you've failed.

Not because you're broken.

But because earning acceptance and discovering yourself are not the same thing.

Permission to Question. Freedom to Choose.

I don't believe healing requires you to throw everything away.

Many people reach a point where what they've been taught, what they've believed, or the life they've built no longer fully fits. They're not looking to reject everything they've known. They're looking for space to question, explore, discern, and decide what resonates.

What beliefs still feel true?

What values feel authentic?

What traditions bring meaning?

What no longer fits?

Therapy offers a space to ask these questions without pressure to conform, rebel, fit into a box, or adopt someone else's answers.

Whether you're exploring faith, spirituality, identity, relationships, purpose, or meaning, my role is not to tell you what to believe. My role is to help you reconnect with your own voice, your own wisdom, and your own path.

Healing isn't about becoming someone new. It's about creating space to become more fully yourself.
